Posted @withregram • @idealistfoods Ooh yeah, who’s ready for a little Derby action today? The heat has kicked up a few notches this week and I saw a gin fizz riff on @liquor that uses sloe gin that sounded tasty and refreshing! I also had a honey rosemary simple syrup I made the other day that I thought would add some lovely herbaceous qualities so mixed that in as well and some fresh rosemary for fun! Cheers to Derby Day!

Honey Rosemary Sloe Gin Fizz

1 1/2 oz Sloe Gin (@spiritworksdistillery )
1 oz fresh lemon juice
3/4 oz Honey Rosemary Simple Syrup (@idealistfoods )
Sparkling water (@topochicousa )

Add gin, lemon juice, and simple syrup to a shaking tin with ice. Shake briefly to chill, about 5 - 10 seconds. Grab a tall glass add ice (@pennypoundice ) and a little soda, then strain in the gin mixture, top with a little more soda, give a stir and garnish with some fresh rosemary! Sip, savor, and enjoy the golden hour!

* 1 scant oz. @sonomasyrupco Lavender simple syrup
* 2 cups crushed ice
* 2 oz. @spiritworksdistillery 4 Grain Bourbon
* Fresh California mint sprig, for garnish

To highball glass or Julep cup, add mint & simple syrup, then 1 cup crushed ice and bourbon. Add enough of remaining ice to almost fill glass. Stir well and garnish with expressed mint sprig.
